• Database Administrator - MS SQL

  • Job Decription

    • Provide primary DBA support for installation, upgrading and maintaining MS SQL databases in a web hosting environment.
    • Plan, recommend, and implement capacity, growth and changes for SQL Server architecture. Identify opportunities for consolidation of SQL Server implementations.
    • Proactively monitor system event and error logs as well as disk drive space available to databases and transaction logs.
    • Proactively monitor and analyze system performance. Provide performance reviews and tuning recommendations for applications.
    • Coordinate database server maintenance and patching, and implement infrastructure changes in accordance with IT Configuration and Change Management policies.
    • Prepare documentation and manuals, perform cost/benefit analyses and prepare project status reports where required.
    • Design and implement secure environments, and control and monitor user access and activity levels.
    • Provide consultation and advice to application development groups to ensure that development efforts do not negatively affect production systems.
    • Create and maintain SQL objects for development, test and production environments.
    • Analyze and resolve database and application issues affecting SQL Server environments.
    • Test and implement new releases of SQL Server-related software. Train personnel in the use of SQL Server and SQL Server tools.
    • Plan, implement, test and document backup and recovery procedures. Participate in disaster recovery exercises.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent industry experience.
    • 4+ years database administration experience.
    • Database certification(s) with preference for SQL Server MCDBA.
    • Strong SQL programming skills.
    • Hands-on data modeling experience for relational databases, both logical and physical data models.
    • Detailed knowledge of normalization techniques.
    • Experience installing, configuring and supporting SQL Server 2000 or 2005.
    • Writing and tuning of database resident code such as: procedures, functions, triggers and views.
    • Performance analysis of SQL Server and its dependent and related resources.
    • Working knowledge of Database Replication, SQL Server Analysis Server (OLAP Server), and SDLC.
    • Proficiency with SQL Profiler, DTS packages, and other tools to manage and tune SQL Server.
    • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

  • Business Service Specialist II

  • Objective:

    To assist in achieving Newtek Small Business Finance goals while providing outstanding service to internal and external customers within a timely and efficient manner.

    Reporting Structure:

    • Reports directly to Senior Vice President of Loan Processing and Operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Contact all loan applicants within set timeframes of loan processing. Advise customer of progress and steps necessary to achieve objective.
    • Prescreen and process all loan applications accurately through the NSBF on-line application system while interfacing with customers and alliance partners.
    • Update Referral System with pertinent information in a professional and non-disparaging manner.
    • Assemble all documents essential for loan processing inclusive of SBA Forms, Credit Release and Financial Data.
    • Support underwriter and/or closer with transaction with a minimum closing goal of $17.5 annually.
    • Function as a resource for other Business Service Specialists.
    • Follow guidelines and procedures established by Senior Management.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including follow-up skills. Must be well-organized, ability to plan, multi-task and meet deadlines. Sales or lending experience a must.
